At Capture, we believe that businesses have a responsibility to contribute positively to the world around them. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is at the heart of our values, and we strive to make a difference beyond our primary business objectives. In line with this commitment, we are proud to highlight Trees for Life, a carbon offsetting charity dedicated to protecting the wild Caledonian Forest and its diverse wildlife, of which we are now a supporter!
Capture’s Steps Challenge
We’ve shared previously the steps that our team take – literally! – to contribute to not only their own physical and mental wellbeing, but to give back to the wider community. Every month, our Steps Challenge spreadsheet is a battleground for the top spot, with awards for “Most Improved” and a running total of equivalent miles traversed. Setting ourselves a monthly target of 6 million steps across our team of 25, for every successful quarter we donate to a staff-chosen charity and match that donation in contributions to Trees for Life.
So far we’ve managed to walk around the world one and a half times. We’ve supported a wide range of charities, from the British Heart Foundation to the Trussell Trust. And now, we’re planting enough trees to constitute our very own Capture copse!
Preserving the wild Caledonian Forest
The Caledonian Forest is a vital ecological treasure located in Scotland, supporting a wide array of plant and animal species. However, it has been under threat due to deforestation and climate change. In support of the Trees for Life mission, Capture has taken a proactive step by supporting Trees for Life’s carbon offsetting program.
Capture’s donation has specifically supported the Scottish Carbon Offsetting project, which is accredited by the Woodland Carbon Code. This code ensures that each woodland scheme delivers the promised benefits and represents genuine new planting. Our contribution has enabled the planting of 120 trees in the conservation estate of Dundreggan, which has the capacity to offset over 50,000 tonnes of CO2.
By investing in the restoration and expansion of the Caledonian Forest, we are actively combating climate change. Trees act as natural carbon sinks, absorbing CO2 from the atmosphere and providing essential oxygen. Our donation has not only helped to offset a significant amount of carbon emissions but has also contributed to the overall conservation efforts aimed at preserving the forest’s biodiversity.
Corporate Social Responsibility
Capture’s contribution to Trees for Life and the wild Caledonian Forest exemplify our dedication to Corporate Social Responsibility. By investing in carbon offsetting and the preservation of critical ecosystems, we are taking responsibility for our carbon footprint and actively working towards a more sustainable future.
Capture’s founder, Abbie Enock, comments:
We believe that true success for a business lies not only in its corporate achievements but also in the positive impact it has on the world. At Capture, wellbeing is the compass guiding our actions. Our Steps Challenge, charitable donations and contributions towards Trees for Life reflects our commitment to making a difference beyond our business objectives. Capture is all about radiating positive, uplifting energy wherever we go, to help everyone around us to thrive. Together, we are planting trees, helping our communities, and ‘stepping’ towards a more sustainable future.
Hopefully, with our continued step-counting and donations, we can create real, tangible impact and inspire our team and our clients to prioritise environmental conservation and social responsibility.
